RESIDENT NEWSLETTER
PUBLISHED ON FRI. OCTOBER 10, 2025
This week we’re sharing a few important updates and introducing new daily visitor parking passes. There’s also a friendly wildlife notice, and a limited-time deal on Roadhaven shirts you won’t want to miss.Â
Please bring your gate fob(s) to the Main Office for a data entry update related to new Door King software. If you own multiple properties, bring all associated gate fobs.

New Daily Visitor Parking Passes
Based on resident feedback, Roadhaven has established daily visitor parking permits for guests, contractors, and unmarked deliveries.
Passes are distributed at the Main Gate and must be placed on the vehicle’s front dashboard while on property.
For safety and record keeping, all visitors must enter through the Main Gate, side gates are for residents only
Changes to Community Donation Services
For many years, Roadhaven Resort has proudly partnered with Sunshine Acres to provide convenient, community-wide donation pick-up. With Sunshine Acres now under new ownership, this service will no longer be available.
Going forward, residents will need to deliver donations directly to a local donation center.
Thank you for continuing the generous tradition that makes Roadhaven such a caring community.
Wildlife Reminder: Please Do Not Feed Animals or leave food or garbage out
Feeding wildlife is against the law out here
In Pima, Pinal, and Maricopa counties, the law prohibits feeding wildlife (other than birds or tree squirrels). Violations may result in fines. If a fed animal causes injury or damage, legal liability may also arise.

Recent reports show food being left out for javelina, stray cats, rodents, and other wildlife throughout the resort. Feeding wild or stray animals leads to property damage, sanitation issues, and potential health risks, it’s also against the law (linked below). As the season begins, please remind friends and neighbors not to leave pet food or scraps outdoors. Help keep Roadhaven clean, safe, and healthy for everyone.
The Wildlife You Might See Around Apache Junction
Apache Junction lies in the Sonoran Desert–transition zone, where a wide variety of desert-adapted species roam. Some of the animals that might be drawn to human dwellings include:
- Javelina (collared peccary): These strong pig-like mammals forage in groups and often wander into residential areas in search of food.
- Coyotes and bobcats: Predators that are opportunistic feeders.
- Stray or feral cats: Unowned cats who may roam in search of food, water, and shelter.
- Smaller animals and scavengers: Skunks, raccoons, rodents, and even insects that can be attracted to food and water sources.
Arizona Game & Fish emphasizes that when humans feed wildlife or leave food accessible, animals lose their natural fear of people, and conflicts arise.
Feeding javelina, stray cats, or other wildlife might come from a kind impulse but the outcome is far from harmless. In Apache Junction and communities like Roadhaven, small changes in daily habits can prevent big problems.
By withholding food access, managing trash, securing pet bowls, and discouraging animal approach, you play a part in preserving safety, property, and native wildlife behavior.
