Resident Newsletter - Feb. 06, 2026

Hey friends, Roadie here –
The desert is buzzing this week, and I’ve got some great updates to share. A Board Working Session is coming up with Zoom access if you’re far from the nest, the Election is in full swing with important items to review, we’re celebrating an outstanding Employee of the Month, and Bingo just shattered its records. Before we jump in, I’ve got a Golf Course Closure notice: The golf course will be closed Mon., Feb. 09 from 7-9AM for fertilizing and will reopen for play after 9AM. See you then!

Election
Voting is officially underway, and this one deserves your full attention. Helpful ballot walkthrough tutorials for both electronic and paper voting are waiting for you on the Elections page under Election Dates and Information, so you can feel confident every step of the way.

While you’re there, take time to review all posted materials covering the Special Assessment, Rec Hall and Admin Office seasonal hours, the Special Election Schedule, the Petition Signature Increase, and the Candidate Biographies. There’s a lot packed into this vote, and it’s worth giving it a careful look before casting your ballot.

Voting closes promptly on Monday, March 9 at 3PM, so don’t wait until the last minute to make your voice heard. Late ballots will not be accepted.

Monday Night Bingo

Monday night Bingo was absolutely hopping, with a record breaking crowd of 315 filling the hall and keeping the daubers busy.

The Early Bird jackpot climbed to $490, Betty Boop paid out big with two lucky winners each pocketing $725, Moneyball will be worth $475 next week, and the Progressive is set to go in 50 numbers. That’s a whole lot of excitement echoing through the Rec Hall.

Roadhaven’s Monday night Bingo is open to the public, so if you’re 18 or older, you’re welcome to grab a seat and join the fun.

Swing by the Rec Hall on Mondays, doors open at 6:30 PM. Bring your own beverages and snacks, settle in, and see if luck decides to roost at your table.

Employee of the Month

Time to shine a little desert sun on Edie in the Main Office.

Edie has been returning back to us season after season since 2019, and every year she proves just how steady and dependable she is.

Whether the Main Office needs backup, Activities needs an extra set of hands, the Golf Shop is hopping, or Accounting needs support, Edie quietly steps in and gets it done.

She brings a calm, friendly presence, and ready willingness to help, and the kind of work ethic that makes everyone else’s day easier. Edie doesn’t look for the spotlight, but her impact is felt all across Roadhaven.

We’re lucky to have her on the team, and we’re grateful for everything she does to keep our community running smoothly. Thank you, Edie!

Lost and Found Bins
Ever get home and realize something followed a different path than you did? A sweater that vanished, a water bottle that wandered off, or something you were sure was in your hands just minutes ago. The Lost and Found bins in our common areas are filling up, so it’s a good time to take a look. Anything left behind at the end of the season will be donated, so don’t let your belongings start a new life without you.

Traffic Safety Reminders
Alright flock, let’s keep the desert roads friendly. Ease up on the gas and mind those speed limits, keep your eyes peeled for neighbors on foot, bikes, and carts. Remember, the street isn’t a runway, so walk along the side instead of right down the middle of the street. If you’re unloading your car, scoot over to the curb so traffic can glide by. A little awareness goes a long way toward keeping our streets calm, safe, and neighborly.

Board Working Session
If you’re curious about how decisions take shape behind the scenes, this one’s worth circling. The Board will hold a working session on Tues., Feb. 10 at 10AM in the Dakota Room. These sessions are all about rolling up sleeves and working through the details.
