Butterfly Wonderland: Explore the Country’s Largest Butterfly Conservatory!

Butterfly Wonderland is an immersive experience that brings the natural beauty of the rainforest to sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.

Thousands of butterflies fill the Conservatory, where guests can stroll through the tropical environment and watch over 70 different species sip nectar from exotic flowers and flutter through an array of tropical plants, mingling with one another. While strolling through the rainforest paradise of the Conservatory, you can observe not only thousands of spectacular butterflies, but you will also have the opportunity to see dozens of sparkling Koi fish, fascinating reptiles, and small tropical birds.

The Emergence Gallery

Each week, over 1,500 chrysalises are flown in from all over the globe and held in the largest emergence gallery in the United States. Guests of Butterfly Wonderland can watch up-close as the butterflies emerge, completing their miraculous metamorphosis before they are moved to the Conservatory. You can learn more about the butterfly lifecycle and the annual monarch migration with “Flight of the Butterflies,” a short, award-winning 3D film that is included with the cost of admission.

Butterflies and More!

Aside from watching dazzling butterflies in their natural environment, learning about their lifecycle through film and the Emergence Gallery, you will also have access to other exhibits dedicated to rainforest reptiles, hardworking honeybees, and spineless giants—the world’s largest arthropods, which include walking sticks, millipedes, and different types of beetles. Butterfly Wonderland also has a small café, a gift shop where you can buy unique souvenirs, and an edible insect station that features snacks like chocolate covered ants and chips made from cricket protein. Butterfly Wonderland makes for a truly unique excursion!
