Upcoming Events in and around Apache Junction

Looking for some weekend plans in Arizona? You’re in luck! Today we’re highlighting some fun and fascinating local events in (or near) Apache Junction where you can enjoy this beautiful fall weather, spend some intentional time with your loved ones, and even learn some things!Â
Star Party at Lost Dutchman State Park
First, there’s the Star Party at Lost Dutchman State Park, taking place on October 14th at 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. with entrance times varying depending on your registered timeslot. A $5 entrance fee is required, and grants access to the event as well as powerful telescopes to take in the otherworldly views of our wondrous cosmos, courtesy of the Superstition Mountain Astronomical League. The event is an at-your-own-pace experience, designed to let you guide your own learning and spend time viewing what interests you most.
You must pre-register here to ensure your place, with registration closing the day before the event (October 13th – that’s today!).
If you can’t make this round, no worries at all! Another Star Party takes place on November 17th, or you can catch the Full Moon Hike on October 27th!
Arizona State Fair
The fair is in town! Running from September 22nd through October 29th, this yearly tradition combines agricultural pride, family fun, exciting concerts and of course – food!
From art features to product demos, livestock to live music, and all the rides you can imagine, the fair is a highly anticipated event every year that always delivers on the hype! Put on your walkin’ boots and get ready to see why Arizona is our nation’s greatest state.Â
Grab tickets here for general admission, upcoming concerts, and the one-day-only Friends 55+ Day featuring live bingo, a Michael Jackson cover band and more!
Movie in the Park – Ghostbusters
Finally, if you’re seeking a more relaxing event, come on down to Superstition Shadows Park this Saturday, Oct 14th at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy a free outdoor showing of the hilariously spooky classic Ghostbusters!
Â
This beloved movie features the out-of-this-realm tale of three eccentric parapsychologist who start up a gosht-catching business in New York City, only to find that the boo-reauracy they face is nearly as frightening as the specters they battle. Bring a blanket and a friend, but don’t get slimed!
There is more to do nearby, check out the Apache Junction website, Visit AJ for more events throughout the month and Fall and Winter seasons.
