Christmas Events in Apache Junction
Welcome to the small town of Apache Junction – winter edition! Around this time of year you get the good old western feel mixed with the coziness of Christmas. Our weather is amazing this time of year and A.J. and the East Valley of Arizona has plenty to offer. From sweet family events to keep you on the nice list to some that can put you on the naughty list, please enjoy some of the events we have all around the city!
Make this holiday season bright with the 28th annual light parade December 6th. There will be a family friendly event at Flatiron Park from 3pm-6:30pm featuring games, music, inflatables, vendor booths, and everyone’s favorite jolly fellow, Santa Clause. Around 6:30pm at the Focal Point, there will be the great tree lighting ceremony, followed by the Light Parade starting at 7pm starting the intersection of Phelps and Main.Â
Don’t forget the stocking stuffers! The Mesa Christmas Market is being held December 12th-14th from 5 – 9:30 pm at the Mesa Drive Park & Ride. Enjoy last minute shopping from local small businesses and listen to live music from local artists. Don’t forget to hitch a ride from Mr. and Mrs. Clause on the Mesa Santa Express before you leave!
Find out if you are Naughty or Nice on the Sippin’ Santas Pub Crawl through Downtown Chandler. December 13th, the Nice List will participate from 12pm – 3pm Naughty Listers participate from 3pm – 6pm. Enjoy $5 specialty food and drinks within the restaurants throughout town. Tickets to join the event start at $23.18 with limited availability, so check the list once and check it twice. This is an event for those 21 years and older.
Enjoy the Celebration of Christmas in Phoenix at the Dream City Church, December 13th from 3pm – 5 pm. The performance will include a Broadway-style performance that will include a full orchestra, live nativity scene, silk artists, aerial acrobatics, and live animals. Tickets start at $16.38 but offer free admission to children 2 and under that can sit in an adult’s lap throughout the performance.
Take a load off and snuggle up with your family! December 13th from 6pm-7:30pm at Flatiron park, SRP is bringing families closer with the family favorite Christmas classic, The Santa Clause! This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) event so grab as many as you can carry and bundle up. In the event of bad weather, the event will be moved into the Multi-Generational Center.Â
Stop by the AJ Public Library to make gifts and decorations to cherish throughout the years. December 16th at 5:30pm there will be the Handmade Holiday event held in the Opal room. This is a double event as it is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party and there will be a history lesson and create your own tea blend to celebrate. You must be 13 years and older to participate in this event.Â
Santa has been kidnapped and we need your help saving him! A fun “murder mystery” feeling mixed with the chill of the winter weather. Join the event Operation Save Santa! from 5pm-7pm at the AJ Public Library December 18th. If you would like a speaking role, you must be 8 years or older, however, everyone is welcome to watch the show.
Make sure your tree is perfect this season by making some ornaments at the AJ Public Library. December 19th from 3pm-4pm you can learn how to make simply designed 3D Family Ornaments. This event is free with no bookings needed. Each family gets to make one ornament for free so make sure you find the best design.
Join the Phoenix Symphony with the New Year’s Eve: All-American Dance Party. Listen to soothing vocalists and the orchestra pull your heart strings to end the year off with a bang! The performance starts December 31st at 7:30pm. Tickets for the event start at $39 and include a complementary champagne toast to celebrate ringing in the new year.
End 2025 and bring in 2026 with loads of laughter! The Neighborhood Comedy Theatre is hosting the New Years Eve Improv Comedy Extravaganza from December 31st at 9:30pm – January 1st at 12am. There will be catered desserts, party favors, and a countdown to midnight. Tickets start at $69.27 and are selling out fast. There is plenty of free parking around the comedy club and places to explore before the big event.
Enjoy wrapping up this year by spending time with friends and family. In Apache Junction, family is one of our greatest values.
