HAPPY FRIDAY, ROADHAVEN

This week, Dear Roadie is back with new letters.

But first, a BIG Happy Birthday to our GM, Steve Byfield! We all wish you a wonderful weekend and blessed year, Steve.

Please don’t forget to activate your gate fob before your arrival. You can call the Main Office at 480-982-4811 to activate it. If you arrive after the Idaho Gate is closed, you can reach Security at 480-570-4811 or simply press 0000 on the gate keypad.

Remember, it is required that you and your guests wear your name badge or wristbands at all times while on the property and outside of your homes. This allows security, staff, and other residents to recognize that you are permitted to be here, to enjoy amenities, and it also assists in identification during emergencies. Thank you for helping us maintain the security of Roadhaven.

Residents swimming at Roadhaven

Eating is not allowed in the pools.
Gathering with friends and family to share a meal is always enjoyable and often filled with laughter. However, please keep all food items out of the pool. Food is permitted within the fenced area and should only be consumed at designated tables, not in the water or on the pool deck.

Having food in the pool or on the deck can lead to several issues:
Hygiene: Food attracts pests that can contaminate the pool.
Water Quality: Food particles can cause bacterial growth and affect sanitation.
Chemical Balance: Food can disrupt the pool’s chemical levels, increasing maintenance costs.
Health Risks: Spilled food can expose swimmers to allergens and bacteria.
Debris Issues: Food wrappers and other debris can clog the filtration system. To ensure safety and cleanliness, please keep food outside of the pool. Thank you!

Dear Roadie Banner

Dear Roadie,
I’ve heard we have three accountants/bookkeepers. Why so many? The park hasn’t grown in size. Do these employees have other task other than book keeping. If so can you provide a job description and other duty’s that goes with this position for all three employees. Thank you.
Sincerely, Counting

Dear Counting,
Our Bookkeeper, Gina, is responsible for daily operations and paying the bills through accounts payable, reconciliation, payroll, financial audits, and reviews.

Our Accountant/ CFO, Roger, is responsible for our investments and long-term financial planning as well as Club financials, compliance regulations, audits, and reporting to the Board and membership. Roger has created a new format for the display of financial reporting and is now reflecting in the HOA portal as of July 2024.

In the past, a seasonal clerk, Edie, was responsible for cash handling, administrative duties, and data entry during the busy season. This season, Edie has replaced Vicki as the Activities Director’s assistant.

The diverse responsibilities within the accounting department clearly demonstrate the need for both a bookkeeper and CFO, even with the park’s stable size. Each team member plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and upholding proper segregation of duties to mitigate risks effectively.

Dear Roadie,
I think you should know Rob Binion and James Hoagland really FLEW above and beyond!

I wanted to pass on that RH has the best staff!

We arrived at RH late Sunday night. Our unit was very hot as expected and the AC felt good. By Monday night the AC unit completely stopped working. We called Semper Fi and they said they would send someone out the next morning. After a thorough check, they determined the whole unit needed to be replaced. They ordered it and came out early this morning to install it.

Yikes…At 7:00 am Security (Rob) arrived and notified us that we didn’t have a permit. Gosh I hadn’t slept for two nights. I didn’t know up from down and was close to tears. A permit was definitely not on my mind. Rob graciously took me to the Architecture Office. James helped start a permit for me and Rob took me back home. James completed the process a little while later.

They both went above and beyond to help us get on track. I totally appreciate their flexibility, kindness and support. RH staff rocks!!
Sincerely, Colleen Nelson

Thanks, Colleen!
