Remembering Two Original Roadies: Cindy Weingart’s Parents, Jan and Cliff McCabe

Jan and Cliff McCabe were proud Roadhaven residents for about 15 years. They first arrived in their motorhome and later settled into a park model on Seminole—just two doors down.

Cliff was well known for his love of card games, often playing six nights a week. As year-round residents, he also enjoyed golfing and playing billiards during the summer months.

Jan was famous for her homemade bread. During patio sales, she’d rise as early as 4:00 AM to run four bread machines at once, filling the air with the smell of fresh cinnamon rolls. She and Cliff would sell coffee and rolls for just 50 cents and spend the morning visiting with neighbors. Jan also proudly joined the Woodworkers Club and loved showing off her handmade creations.

Cindy and Bud often visited Jan and Cliff and came to love the warmth and energy of the Roadhaven community. In 2018, Cindy retired and purchased her parents’ park model.

Jan passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on May 1, 2025, with Cindy by her side. In keeping with her wishes, Jan donated her body to the University of Minnesota. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Fly high, Jan. Thank you both for spending your time with us at Roadhaven.
