HAPPY NEW YEAR, ROADHAVEN
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend this week’s Learning Session and Town Hall. We appreciate you taking the time to stay informed. As many know, Trish Hoagland is serving as interim General Manager after Steve’s resignation. Below is a statement from the Board of Directors:
“This month, Steve Byfield, who has served as Roadhaven’s General Manager for the past 15 years, made the decision to resign from his role at our resort. While his departure may have seemed abrupt, Steve had been assisting Venture Out Resort in Mesa as their interim General Manager for several months following the departure of their previous General Manager. Balancing the demands of both resorts proved unsustainable, and our Board ultimately asked Steve to make a decision. In the end, he chose to accept the position of General Manager at Venture Out.
Steve offered to stay at Roadhaven until the end of January to help with the transition. However, as stewards of the resort’s financial and operational health, the Board determined it was in the community’s best interest that he go to Venture Out immediately upon his decision to accept their offer.
Over the years, Steve’s leadership has profoundly shaped Roadhaven, setting a standard that other resorts aspire to follow. His vision, dedication, and hard work helped us achieve significant milestones, and it’s no surprise that another resort sought him as their General Manager. While this transition marks the end of an era, it is essential to acknowledge the invaluable contributions Steve made during his tenure.
Our decision to move forward without a prolonged transition period was not made lightly. It reflects our duty to act in the best interest of Roadhaven’s membership, ensuring stability and clarity for the future. At the same time, it allows Steve to embrace the next chapter of his personal and professional journey.
Importantly, Steve has spent the past two seasons preparing Trish Hoagland to step into her current role as interim General Manager. Her focused efforts in understanding Roadhaven’s finances, infrastructure, and team dynamics have positioned her well and will help lead us forward. We are confident in a smooth transition and continued success for Roadhaven.
On behalf of the Board and the entire Roadhaven community, we extend our deepest gratitude to Steve for his years of service and leadership. We wish him success and happiness in his new endeavor.”

Golf Updates
Our golf course continues to get busier, and we’re expecting even more golfers returning this new year. We’d like to remind you that tee-times should be scheduled in advance through the Golf Shop Office, either in person, or by phone at 480-982-4653. If you wish to golf 18 holes, please mention that when making your tee-time.
Also, when booking a tee-time, please provide names for all golfers who will be playing. If only 1 or 2 names are provided, the Shop may add more golfers to fill out the group. If you wish to add more golfers later, please advise the Golf Shop prior to arrival to avoid overbooking.
On occasion we will have open spots available. You can try just dropping in, but we don’t want you to leave disappointed if we can’t accommodate you.
We request that you arrive at the Clubhouse at least 10 minutes prior to your tee-time, and check in with the Golf Shop Office staff prior to teeing off. We reserve the right to juggle the tee-sheet in order to keep the pace.
All rounds of golf must begin on Hole #1, and groups are limited to 4 players (with the exception of league or special event shotgun starts).
Tee times are scheduled every 7-8 minutes, with the expectation that a four-person group can play 9 holes in about an hour. Please play “ready” golf. We want you to enjoy the course, and allow others the same consideration.
Honor System: If golfing after hours, please use the honor system. There are slips for members, and payment envelopes for non-members located in the mailboxes outside the shop door. Place completed slip/envelope into the slot in the door. It’s very important that both members and non-members use the honor system. We are required to submit a total count of rounds played.
ID Badges must be worn at all times.
